Teacher Request Day

traditional education phoenix elementary school

Teacher Request Day is quickly approaching! Adams Traditional Academy’s Teacher Request Day is the first opportunity for parents to request a specific teacher for their students’ upcoming school year. Teacher Request Day will be conducted electronically.

On Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. incoming kindergarten and 1st grade parents will be able to submit teacher requests, and at 11:00 a.m. incoming 2nd through 4th grade parents will be able to submit teacher requests. You may submit your request by using the link available on the homepage of our website, http://www.atachoice.org. Only one form per student will be acknowledged. Once a form has been submitted, parents will have the option to submit additional forms for additional children. Online submissions of teacher requests for grades K – 4 will remain open until May 22, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

While we take into account each request received, we cannot guarantee any request. We strive to provide every student with an excellent academic environment that includes a balanced classroom based on gender, academics, and behavior. This means that not all requests will be fulfilled. However, Adams Traditional Academy strives to staff all of our classrooms with the best teachers in order to give every student a wonderful academic experience.

Below is a list of the teachers currently placed in their respective grade levels for the 2020-2021 school year. Please keep in mind, this list is subject to change. Due to the lack of data required for determining APEX class placement, APEX will not be offered during the 2020-2021 school year. You are welcome to contact us if you have any questions.

March 15, 2020

Dear Choice Academies School District Staff, Parents and Guardians:

Governor Doug Ducey and State Superintendent Kathy Hoffman announced this afternoon that all Arizona schools will be closed beginning on March 16th through March 27th. It is our understanding that Governor Ducey and State Superintendent Hoffman will work with education officials and public health officials to keep us informed of further direction through March 27, 2020.

At this time, Choice Academies schools are closed for a scheduled Spring Break. Schools will remain closed for an additional week through March 27th. Administrative leaders are scheduled to meet to discuss plans for all three schools’ activities and the impact of the extended school closure.

Thank you again for choosing the Choice Academies family of schools. We will continue to email out updates that may impact individual families, and/or our schools as we receive them. Please remain safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Audra Wilson-Smith Chief Executive Officer

DECA Idea Challenge 2019

Our Middle School Entrepreneurs

DECA Idea Challenge 2019

Last month, our middle school students competed in DECA Idea Challenge 2019, an international competition for all age levels. The DECA Idea Challenge asks students to find a new use for everyday items in just a couple of days. The teams of 3-5 students are then asked to video their product presentations and upload them to YouTube for judging by DECA.

The 2019 mystery item was announced on November 15, and it was SHOELACES! Below are a few of the videos to show off the students’ entrepreneurial vision.
